B8: Identification and characterization of a novel metazoan disaggregase module
Protein disaggregation provides an alternative pathway for clearance of protein aggregates. We have recently identified the components of this disaggregation module as Hsp110, Hsp70 and Hsp40. With this project we aim to fully characterize this tripartite disaggregase module using the metazoan model system C. elegans as well as human cells to gain insight into the regulation, activity and substrate spectrum of this disaggregase module in the context of the cellular proteostasis network.
