Project Area B: Control Of Conformation And Degradation Of Proteins
Project area B comprises projects that deal with the processing of proteins. As in area A, processes are based on large protein complexes, which undergo dynamic changes in their organisation. In the last funding period first insight was obtained how the specific biological task (protein processing vs. polynucleotide processing in areas B and A, respectively) is reflected by the modular properties. Representative functional modules (chaperones und proteasomes) will be investigated using biochemical, biophysical and structural methods.
